About the owner:  My name is Rebecka Melson, owner and operator of Virtual Business Services. I have worked in the accounting industry for over 10 years and in real estate for seven. I began my career very early in a friend's accounting office and I guess it just sort of stuck with me, as I'm still doing bookkeeping today. I enjoy working with start-up businesses and fixer-uppers. I like problem solving. Its fun to take a big mess and re-work it into something organized and functional and it's rewarding to see the end result. The main goal of my company is to help other small businesses succeed. I have seen a lot of small businesses sink due to a lack of proper bookkeeping and other administrative functions. It is essential for every business owner to know, at all times, where they stand financially, but many don't. The primary reasons for this are a lack of knowledge of how to do it, lack of time to do it, and/or lack of money to hire someone to do it. That's where I come in. I provide a conventional service in an unconventional way. I work virtually and provide services on an as-needed basis. Even if you are not technologically advanced, you can work with a virtual assistant. As with anything there may be a slight learning curve to it, but just the cost benefits alone make it well worth it (check out the cost comparison calculator on our home page). Working with a virtual assistant is the perfect arrangement for the frequent traveler, too. I maintain a high level of integrity, honesty and confidentiality in all my business and personal relationships and due to this have been given high levels of responsibilities, starting early in my career, and have maintained long-standing relationships with clients, former employers and employees and vendors. I look forward to creating many more.
